LIFE CHECK 2012, the underground still thunders…

Welcome to our section of the Durban Hip Hop scene, the LIFE CHECK segment, where we maintain our love for Hip Hop culture by presenting and promoting the heads and hearts that keep it real.

PLOTS AND SCHEMES for 2012

So what is our mission this year?  We have begun the process of registering formally as a Non Profit Organization.  This will enable us to operate at a level that will provide us with more stability and scope for future developments.

Life Check founder and co-director Iain EWOK Robinson has recently become a father and so will be focussing most of his energies this year on building a better world for the little guy.  This might see him duck back underground for a bit but best believe he is still operating, even at a subterranean level.

We have formed an association with an event called CUP O’THOUGHT, a fresh poetry initiative that is setting new standards in the 031, and we will be concentrating on supporting them as much as possible as they lay the foundations for what promises to be a solid platform for South African Spoken Word.

We are looking to boost our ONLINE presence this year after taking into account the number of heads who operate in that sphere, from soundcloud.com to reverbnation.com to twitter and beyond.  The blog will be going through continuous upgrades through 2012 as we attempt to get it to a level of operation that ensures smooth and effective communication with the Life Check massive, as well as shining that Poisonous light into the international skies.  As always, we are aiming to be a platform for whatever missions you heads are making so keep doing what you do and we will do our best to do it to.

Follow us on twitter @LifeCheck031.

Finally, we have also started working with ‘Gangs of Graffiti’ (www.gangsofgraffiti.wordpress.com), a new blogsite that deals with promoting Graffiti as a legitimate art form.  The “Painting A Future” project has begun, where we facilitate the production of murals for schools and shelters who can’t afford professional artwork of this nature.

Follow this project and more 031 Aerosol activity on twitter @GangsOfGraffiti, and link up on facebook here [http://www.facebook.com/GANGS.of.GRAFFITI].

We got one or two other little missions to make, and as you know we are always open to new initiatives and developments, so keep us in the loop and we will reciprocate.

Until we meet up upon the scene, stay up, stay strong, stay long!

Peace,

THE LIFE CHECK YOUTH DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE
